With deepest regret we inform that Stanisław Witkowski, our Teacher and dearest Friend, passed away yesterday. He was a foremost Bearer of music from the Kielce region. If not him, there would have never been Tęgie Chłopy nor the festival Kielecki Tabor Domu Tańca festival.

He played clarinet, trumpet and sax. Together with brothers – Jan, Zygmunt, Kazimierz and Stefan – they created and run for decades one of the most famous wedding bands in the region: Witkowski brothers band (Kapela braci Witkowskich). When we knocked at Stanisław’s door for the first time in 2012, he welcomed us with arms wide open, eager to share his music without second thoughts…

No words can mach our sorrow. We already miss You, Stanisław!
