The first official screening of The Agony will be held at the Warsaw Film Festival today. The documentary depicts the present day of folk music in Poland as seen by Adam Strug – singer, accordionist, song writer, an important and charismatic figure in the movement for preservation of traditional village music in Poland. He authored script of The Agony and is the narrator of the story.

The Agony is created by film-makers well aware of the subject: director Tomasz Knittel, DOP Nicolas Villegas (authors of the Gąsacki and Grębski videos!) and editor Jakub Pietrzak.

And we are there too! Tęgie Chłopy and our master Stanisław Witkowski are vital musical points of interest on Adam’s route. So it is a must-see, isn’t it?
